About The Branch
Bharuch being located in the middle of Vadodara and Surat cities and at the bank of River Narmada – 7th largest holy River – has its own identity of Industrial and chemical belt in Gujarat. In proximity with the city, there are GIDC Ankleshwar-Asia's largest Industrial Hub, Dahej-SEZ, GIDC Panoli and GIDC Jhagadia, which have many pharma, chemical and agro chemical industries. These industries have provided many opportunities for Chartered Accountants and better employment prospects for the younger generation along with entrepreneurship opportunities.
In the Year 2006-07, a humble beginning towards establishing ICAI Branch in Bharuch was made under the leadership of Senior Members of Bharuch Branch and Office Bearers. Bharuch Branch was brought into existence from 8th September, 2006 which was inaugurated by the worthy hands of CA Sunil Talati, Past President of the Institute. Efforts were made at that time to take consent from more than 100 Members to establish a Branch in Bharuch.
The Foundation of the Bharuch District Chartered Accountant Association was laid in the year of 1990 and the first Meeting has been held at the Hotel Shetna Plaza wherein,most senior chartered accountants of Bharuch remain present and decided to form Bharuch District Chartered Accountant Association. The first formal meeting was held at Lions Hall, Falshruti Nagar, Station Road, Bharuch. The association undertook various activities and held various seminars on the issues pertaining to the profession and whose who of the profession has been speaker in the seminars.
Initially GNFC also extended help and seminars took place in the auditorium of the GNFC. IN the year 1997, with the help of then chairman of WIRC, CA Rajkumar Adukia, Bharuch district CPA study circle got permission and various activities have been carried out under the banner of Bharuch District CPA study circle.
The Branch premises consists of a centrally AC Auditorium having 165 person capacity, ITT Lab, Conference Room, Reading / Library Room, Multi-purpose Room all equipped with state-of-the art technology along with a spacious cafeteria, parking area and a beautiful garden.
With the view to up-dating and upgrading knowledge spheres of the Members, the branch arranges seminars on subjects of interest to Branch Members, Members in Industries and people at large. Recently Branch has successfully completed “Certificate Course on GST” in June 2019, wherein members were updated with the latest provisions of GST by prominent faculties.
The Branch is also arranging Information Technology training, Management & Communications Skills program for Students which are mandatory in nature for pursuing CA profession. With the prime objective of promoting Commerce Education with special focus on CA Course, the branch constantly arranges Career Counseling Programers amongst Secondary, Higher secondary, Graduate, Post-graduate students as well as other stakeholders in nearby areas of Bharuch and Ankleshwar. Bharuch Branch of WIRC of ICAI is always keen to invite any suggestions from members and students and is committed to serve as best as it can.
Initially, Bharuch Branch of WIRC of ICAI had its office in a very small rented premises located at “104,Vadilon Nu Ghar, First Floor, Kasak Circle, Bharuch”. Gradually, Members and Students of the Bharuch Branch sensed the need of having its own ICAI Bharuch Branch Premises and in the Year 2009-10, Senior Members of Bharuch Branch went to New Delhi and successfully brought approval for having its own premises of Bharuch Branch of WIRC of ICAI. Due to the efforts of Past Chairman and senior members, the precious of land at GIDC Bharuch was allotted to the branch. The “Bhoomi-Poojan” for construction of Bharuch Branch was done on 1st February, 2009 in the presence of CA Uttam Prakash Agrawal, Past President of ICAI. The endeavor of the Members, Office Bearers and Students wassuccessfully and “ICAI Bhawan” - Bharuch Branch of WIRC of ICAI was constructed on approximately 2500 sq. mtr of land in GIDC Bharuch. The Branch was inaugurated with the worthy hands of CA Jaydeep Shah, Past President of the Institute on 31stJanuary, 2013.
